Condition

The bell: in overall good condition, some minor dents, marks, scratches and typical light surface corrosion. Two slightly larger chips to underside rim of the bell. The associated stand: in overall good condition, minor dents, marks and scratches. Alterations.

Catalogue Note

Born in Holstein in 1716, Pieter Seest was appointed foreman in the gun- and bell foundry of Amsterdam in 1755. In 1770 he became director of the foundry.
