SILVER AND GOLD BRACELET, FROMENT-MEURICE, 1860s

Description

Designed as a series of circular open work links, each alternating on a central motif depicting a bird or a flower head in relief, including a lily, rose and a poppy, each framed with an ivy wreath, length approximately 200mm, unsigned, French assay marks, case embossed to the exterior M.J., Froment-Meurice, 372 Rue St Honoré, Paris, clasp later extended.

Condition

Stamped with French assay marks for 18 carat gold to clasp and tongue. Bracelet does not lay flat. Original clasp closure fitting has been replaced and extended, tongue original to piece. Traces of solder to reverse of clasp. Tarnish to gold details and clasp could benefit from a careful professional clean. Please note this piece has been intensionally oxidised. Reverse of links with traces of dirt. In good condition.
