Description
The rectangular case with an engine turned pattern to the exterior, decorated with two vertical white enamel bands accented with cabochon sapphires, the front collet-set with an oval faceted sapphire to a synthetic sapphire thumb piece, opening to reveal a mirror, a powder and lipstick compartment, inscribed Florence M. Lamborn, Montclair, N.J., U.S.A., measuring approximately 80mm x 50mm x 9mm, signed Cartier Paris, Londres, New York and numbered, two cabochon sapphires deficient.
Condition
Sapphires a light to medium light blue, typical inclusions visible with magnification. One compartment with powder puff, lipstick holder with material inside. Light scratching to enamel but no losses. Some traces of dirt and slight tarnishing, could benefit from a careful professional clean. Vanity case to a later cord carrying handle, would have originally been a gold chain. Good closing mechanism. Scratches and indentations consistent with wear. Heavy case weighing approximately 156 grams. In good condition.
