Description
The rectangular case engraved in the 'Indien' style to the outside with various birds including stylised peacock and storks, tigers, elephants and ferrets to a foliate and floral background, decorated with polychrome enamel, the thumb piece composed of a lapis lazuli tablet applied with a paisley motif set with turquoise, tourmaline and pearls, opening to reveal a mirror, four compartments and a tortoiseshell comb, measurements approximately length 155mm, width 112mm, depth 23mm, unsigned, suede carrying pouch and fitted case Cartier, Paris.
Condition
Metal brass box heavily tarnished would benefit from a careful professional clean. Interior mirror with water damage to silvering, catch loose, suede case scuffed, outer fitted case with wear and scuffing to edges and splits to four corners.
