Catalogue Note
For a similar model from the same series, see Alessandra Mottola Molfino, L'Arte della porcellana in Italia, vol. I, pl. 465. The only other example in the literature was sold at Sotheby's, 16th October 1979, lot 70, then at Sotheby's New York 16th October 1987. Callot's original engraving identifies ( in translation) " Mrs Agatha Zipperlingin, née Castraunin von Falten und Zekerthal, renowned dog mother...."
