- 80cm. 399cm. long, 96cm. deep; 2ft. 7 ½in., 13ft. 2in., 3ft. 1 ¾in.
with a cleated three plank top, on six chamfered square legs joined by peripheral stretchers
Provenance
By repute a commision for Puttenden Manor, Surrey, until removed from that house in 1981 and moved to Cloghan Castle, Ireland.
"It is likely that this table was in the possession of the Hon. Mark Napier QC MD (1852-1919). Napier entertained a large number of luminaries as part of his job as MP and Chairman of Reuters."
Condition
Good overall condition. Patched repair to the base of one central leg and also to the top of one stretcher where it joins with an end leg. Another end leg with a rectangular patch to the inside. Evidence of some re-pegging to joints. Later cleats. General old marks, wear and scratches consistent with age. Very good colour and patina. Good large size.
