  • 17cm. 6¾in. square
4¾-inch glass dial signed F S Rosenlehner, Munchen, the single hand indicating the time without apparent connection to the 8-day French movement with cylinder escapement, renaissance-style moulded case on turned feet; together with a copy of the patent document registered in Berlin in February 1879

Condition

Dial with good original gilding, some marking to the dark blue ground, now secured by 2 screws to the edge. 8-day movement appears to run but may benefit from a clean. The hand driven by a concealed magnet, the hand set with a knob on the backplate and indicator on a subsidiary dial beneath the glass dial. Minor chip to moulding on one side of the case, other minor dents and marks. No winder. With hand and support.
