Overall condition good, although one body mount has slipped slightly to expose a small pin.

The inscription reads: 'VIRO AMATO UXOR AMANS IR & FH Shaw 1864'

The initials are those of John Ralph Shaw (1811-1884) of Arrowe Park, Cheshire, who took the name of Shaw by Sign Manual on 11 January 1837 in accordance with the will of his maternal great uncle, John Shaw of Liverpool. He married on 27 July 1837 Fanny Harriet (d. 1887), fourth daughter of the Rev. William Cruttenden Cruttenden, formerly of Macclesfield and sometime Rector of Alderley, Cheshire.
