Description

  • 71cm, 28in high
decorated with foliage and pierced borders, curved glass apertures, each surmounted by a cast Earl's coronet, later fitted for electricity

Provenance

The Earls of Dudley, by repute formerly attached to a carriage of the 1st Earl of Dudley (1817-1885). The carriage itself is in the care of the Tyrwhitt-Drake Collection of Carriages, which is part of Maidstone Museum.

Condition

Finials at bottom lacking with evidence of old solder repairs, one glass pane cracked, mostly silver on copper, some elements on nickel including the cast coronets. Please contact the Silver Department directly on +44(0)20 7293 5531 for further queries.
