Description

  • each stool: 62cm. high, 55cm. wide, 33cm. deep; 2ft. ½in., 1ft. 9½in., 1ft. 1in.
the backs with brass spindle decoration and with roundels to the sides, on sabre legs, each back rail stamped with a Patent Office design registry mark

Condition

Very good condition the seats have many old indentations and marks.

A pair of hall seats of the same model, likewise attributed to Shoolbred & Co., formerly in the collection of Mary, Viscountess Rothermere, sold Christie's, New York, 16th April 1994, lot 150, a pair sold Sotheby's New York, 18th October 1997, lot 345 and another pair sold these rooms, 12th February 1999, lot 21 with provenance of Drumbanagher, County Armagh. More recently see these rooms, 1st October 2008, lot 53.
