Vincent  J. Robinson, Esq., C.I.E. when exhibited at the Bethnal Green Branch Museum 1896.

In 1896 Vincent Robinson purchased Parnham House, Dorset from a member of the Oglander family whose family had lived at Parnham since their inheritance of it in 1776. He furnished the house with a large collection of early furniture, works of art and pictures that was eventually dispersed on his death in a sale by Messrs Nicholas, in conjunction with Hampton & Sons, lasting several days, starting on August 2nd 1910.  The present piece was by repute purchased by Edward Fletcher from Parnham circa 1900 and passed by family descent to the present vendor.
