Description

  • 73cm. high, 91cm. wide, 45cm. deep: 2ft. 4¾in., 3ft., 1ft. 6in.
the crossbanded hinged D-shaped top on a wave and key inlaid frieze, with four supports on stepped outswept legs with brass castors, the rear legs with unusual hinged and pull out arrangement, stamped WILKINSON, LUDGATE HILL

Condition

In very good overall condition. Good patination to the top with minor old marks and scratches throughout. Approx 8in. of veneer missing from the top left hand edge, left hand side. Minnor losses to inlay throughout. Some old water marks to the base which will need minor attention. An interesting and unusual design.

Wilkinson began his career around 1790 working in partnership with a relation, Thomas Wilkinson, but by 1808 has established a business of his own at 14 Ludgate Hill.  From this prime location in the heart of the City of London, Wilkinson built up a flourishing trade, winning significant commissions from such distinguished clients as the Goldsmiths' Company
