Provenance

Possibly George Fermor, 3rd Earl of Pomfret (1768-1830), Easton Neston, Northamptonshire:
Thence by descent

Condition

Nice quality. The gadrooned edge with the loss of one gadroon and one side re-attached. The top with scratches. The top is warped and there is a split - this should be easily repaired. There are traces of old worm. the leather book spines are scuffed in places but generally in very good order. There is an old split to one corner block on the plinth. The velvet lined frieze drawer lacks a key. A super object with great provenance that would benifit from minor workshop attention.
