Maison Jansen opened his first satellite office at 5 Calle Florida in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1905. The Buenos Aires office used Argentinean craftsmen, especially during World War I, when contact with the Paris office and shipment of decorative objects from France became difficult. Between 1905 and 1922 additional offices followed in Havana, Cairo, Alexandria and London. Furniture was made from native woods shipped to Parisian ateliers as raw lumber and returned in historically inspired forms, see J. A. Abbot, Jansen, New York, 2006, pp. 15-16.
