Description

  • underglaze blue crossed swords mark and gilder's numerals
  • 20.5cm., 8in.
painted in the manner of J.G.Höroldt,  with chinoiserie figures in formal gardens preparing tea, within scrollwork borders incorporating panels of Boettger lustre, the panels flanked by sprigs of indianische Blumen, the domed cover with similar scenes (cover cracks, knop re-stuck)

Condition

Coffee pot with haircrack from rim, approx.2in. length. Area to outside of rim with loss of gilding and glaze, approx. 3in. by ¼in. at deepest point. Shallow chip to underside of footrim, approx. ½in. by ¼in. Some typical wear to gilding. Cover with a fine starcrack. Knop has been glued.
