Only two other Du Paquier bourdaloues seem to have appeared at auction in recent years; a schwarzlot example painted in the Bottengruber manner, with mythical scenes, (Christies Geneva, 11^th May 1987, lot 65) and a helmet-form example in Dannhofer style (Christies 4^th july 1083, lot 81). Another is in the Museum of Applied Arts in Vienna; see E. Sturm-Bednarczyk, Claudius Innocentius du Paquier, pl.97.

The celebrated clock in the Museo Civico, Turin, which is inscribed and dated 1725, gives the date reference for this style of chinoiserie decoration at the du Paquier factory, but the inclusion of a large beast in the manner of Adam Friedrich von Loewenfinck's work at Meissen is most unusual, found in our archives only on a single plate offered in these rooms 27^th January 1970, lot 112
