Condition

All four mirrors are in fair overall condition. The silvering to the mirror plates is very worn and distressed. Although re-gilded the gesso is very brittle and there are many chips and losses to the gilt decoration. One mirror has losses to the carved decoration above both "ears" and another has similar losses above one "ear" (not shown in the catalogue photograph as the images in the catalogues are duplicate images of the other mirrors). All the mirrors have more minor chips and age cracks to the carved decoration.
