Description

  • each 111cm. high, 143cm. wide, 71cm. deep; 3ft. 7¾in., 4ft. 8¼in., 2ft. 4in.
with inlaid banding and cartouche decoration, each with a serpentine-shaped fall opening to reveal an interior fitted with three pigeon holes above three small drawers and three concealed drawers and with conforming inlay, the lower section of serpentine outline with three drawers, the similarly shaped sides of bombé form, on bracket feet

Condition

Very decorative. In excellent restored and repolished condition. Each bureau stamped with restorers stamp in places 'Costa, Via Roselino Pilo, 20 (ang. N. Bixio) Telef. 27.26.44-20129 Milano, Restauri Antichita'. The interior with two paper labels for the same restorer one inked with the date 26/9/1976. Patching to each exterior lock site. There are areas of old repair but these do not detract. One small interior drawer has a detached brass knob. There has been work and repair to the carcases and internal drawer sides have been replaced. There is additional evidence of staining to the drawer supports and old repairs to escutcheons.
