Description

  • approx: 98cm. high, 78cm. diameter; 3ft. 2½in. 2ft. 6¾in.
with a stylised fountain corona above a ring enclosing three later light fittings  and a ring supporting six scrolled candle-arms enclosing six later light fittings, the central section with a spirally turned stem issuing from a diamond cut baluster vase, with an associated amethyst glass pine cone finial, formerly fitted and drilled for electricity

Condition

Some minor chips to the cut-glass drops and beads and some replacements which is quite normal. The gilt-bronze is quite dirty and would benefit from a light clean according to taste. The finial has been attached with wire and may need further attention. One of the drop strands has come loose from the ring and can easily be re-attached. There is evidence of old glue on the candlearms where previously wires were attached but this can be cleaned off. Another swag of drops from a candlearm appears broken but can easily be re-attached. Some of the flowerheads on the corona are slightly loose and will benefit from being re-attached. The later fixing inside both rings with the bulbs can easily be removed. An attractive model in need of some minor attention.
