of serpentine form with a moulded mottled liver, grey and white marble top, above two short and two long drawers on splayed feet with foliate and rocaille cast gilt-bronze mounts throughout
Condition
Colour of wood slightly darker, and the marble top and the gilt bronze mounts are more golden and attractive than in the catalogue illustration. The top has some very minor chips and pitting and is possibly associated, and it has some surface dirt and would benefit from a light clean according to taste. There have been some minor restorations to the veneer in the past in the front, together with some further areas on the feet which will need attention. The gilt bronze mounts are also slightly dirty and would benefit from a clean, and appear to have been re-gilt in the past. There is a horizontal construction crack across each side which would benefit from filling. The mounts appear to be original to the piece. In need of some minor attention to the veneer. Once restored, will look most attractive.
