Condition

This piece is generally in good condition. There are minor chips and wear to the gilding throughout consistent with age and use. The colour is however extremely faded and appears to be brown rather than scarlet although the back which will not have been exposed to light largely retains its original colour. The lid is slightly warped and does not fit evenly.
