the moulded cornice above six grille inset doors enclosing adjustable shelves between lapet-capped columns, the lower part with six panelled doors between conforming columns, on a plinth base

Condition

Brass Grilles later. Hinges original but some screws replaced or missing. Re-polished finish throughout. Locks appear to be original. There are no keys. The handles on the cupbioard doors are later. There are twelve shelves of which only two are long and fit the upper central section doors. However the right door to the lower section is locked and therefore it is not possible to say whether there are more shelves inside. There are also a number of baton shelf supports of varying sizes which slot into the notches to the interior sides but as the shelves have not been installed it is not possible to say yet whether there are a sufficient number of the right size of batons to support the available shelves. There are unfortunately no keys present with the cabinet. All shelves appear to be original although there is the possibility that some have been replaced as there is some variation in the oxidisation to the pine surfaces. The right grille panel door to the upper section is also locked without a key. The central doors to the lower section have the lock thrown but also do not have a key. Slight warping to the central upper doors and the right hand door flanking these. Slight warping to the central right door of the lower section. Very minor warping to the outer doors of the lower section. Both doors flanking the central lower doors are detached. There is a small missing piece of beading above the return heading the right column flanking the central lower doors. The far left hand column to the lower section is loose. Some loose beading to the cornice which is currently held on with masking tape. Waist return moulding to left side is missing. Minor age cracks to the edges of the sides of the top of the lower section. Some minor general old marks and scratches and wear including minor veneers chips to rear edges of base of upper section to right side near the junction with the lower section. Some masking tape marks to some of the turned columns which will polish out. Good consistent colour and good figuring to mahogany.
