A Regency bronze-mounted 'plum-pudding' mahogany pedestal sideboard circa 1810, in the manner of Thomas Hope

Description

  • 110cm. high, 231.5cm. wide, 82cm. deep; 3ft. 7¼in., 7ft. 7¼in., 2ft. 8¼in.
 the frieze fitted  with a long central drawer flanked by a short drawer to either side, with lioness mask handles, each pedestal fitted with a cupboard, one enclosing a shelf

Condition

A highly decorative sideboard but in need of some restoration. The top has some old splits and cracks, some running right accross the top and other more minor cracks around the edge of the pedestals. There is some ebonised moulding lacking to each side at the point where the top rests on the pedestals, there are old cracks to the sides and some scuffing to the feet and old marks and scratches throughout commensurate with age.
