Description

the 18th century top with two leaf insertions, the baluster turned pillars on reeded splayed legs ending in brass paw finials and castors
Condition
The top is of a lovely colour with attractively figured mahogany - it would though benefit from a thorough clean and possibly a re-polish as there are numerous old marks and scratches throughout. Each D-end has a section of mahogany joined to where it meets each leaf. The central section also has a join. This is a piece that has been vigorously used and it shows. It is of a pleasing size. The later pedestals are a good match and probably a good approximation of what they replaced, they could well be Edwardian replacements. There are old and new marks and scratches throughout commensurate with age and use. A table with an attractive top, of a large size, that would benefit enormously from some workshop attention.
