Description

with a divided plate within a border of twisted ribbon floral and foliate trails and beading, on foliate carved feet
Condition
There is more of a contrast of colours than is apparent in the catalogue photograph and the mirror is more attractive in reality. Some old very minor restorations which have been well executed and are hardly noticeable. When the mirror is viewed from back there is evidence of a previous fixing on reverse as there are two very small sections, 6cm. long inset into the side of each border which are of slightly lighter colour to the rest. Some very minor retouching to painting, which is worn in places as visible from the catalogue, with minor chips commensurate with age and especially on the beaded border. Very attractive detail to carving. Construction cracks at joints as visible in the catalogue photograph which are quite normal, which can either be left or filled. An attractive lot in overall good conserved condition.
