Description

the hat chest with two rectangular-panel doors fitted flush around a removable center stile, set with a three-part circular baitong lockplate with oval pull handles

Condition

There is signs of former inlay on the inside of one of the side panels, suggesting that the panel was replaced. The back and top are covered by lacquer which is flaking off. There is a loose joint on teh back left corner. There are gaps to both sides of the back panel due to shrinkage. There is some minor loss along the edges as well as to one of the back corner while the other corner has a crack and has been restored. There are some minor loss and scratches overall.
