Description

the globular body painted in a deep underglaze-blue with two prominent peony sprays growing upright from rockwork, emitting further peony and associated foliate scrolls throughout the body, the lower neck with a thin chrysanthemum foliate scroll band, all below the trumpet neck repeating the peony motif, the rim with a thin foliate diaper band enclosing an apocryphal six-character Xuande mark within a cartouche

Condition

There is a luting line along the shoulder that has been filled in before firing (under the glaze), resulting in a slightly paler white color. There are also several small fine glaze cracks running vertically downward from the shoulder. Series of crazing to the glaze, now stained, on the bottom section close to the foot. In otherwise good condition.
