Description

each of tall rectangular shape and square section, the facets molded with the bagua (Eight Trigrams), supported on a short flared foot, all below the gently curved neck and lipped rim, suffused with a thick crackled light-blue glaze, six-character mark in underglaze-blue to the base (2)

Condition

Both vases have been drilled (1/2 inch diameter) through the center of the bases and center of the marks. One has a 1/4 inch chip to one of the shoulder corners. The other vase with a black glaze line approximately 3 inches on the base. The same vase also with a bruise on the inside of the rim, and a possible associated hairline running down the exterior neck, with a small burst air bubble on the rim. In otherwise good condition. The vases are a more celadon color than the catalogue image suggests.
