Description

painted with peonies and chrysanthemums issuing from stacked rockwork blocks, beneath a cell-diaper border at the shoulder reserved with small flower panels, applied with an oval paper collection label numbered 699 or 669

Condition

The vase is in overall good condition. There are several small glaze chips to the rim. A horizontal line approximately 2 1/2 inch long is visible across the neck below the glaze. There is a glaze bubble ca. 1/4 inch big about 1 inch above the base. There are overall scattered pin prick impurities across the body. The enamel shows some very light flaking and loss, particularly to the aubergine enamel of one small bird. And there is very light wear to the iron red.
