each of shallow form with curved sides, painted to the interior well with a five-clawed dragon in iron-red, surrounded by flames, surrounded on the cavetto by four jumping fish emerging from green-enamel cresting waves, the waves repeated on the exterior above the short tapered foot, the base with an apocryphal Chenghua six-character mark (2)

Condition

The right-hand dish in the catalogue photo has some light scratching overall, noticeable on the red enamel of the dragon and visible in the catalogue. A 1/8 inch glaze pull beneath the exterior rim; with a few scattered speckles, particularly on the base. There is considerable wear on the rim glaze. In the left-hand side dish in the catalogue photo, the underglaze blue and enamels are paler than the other dish. Some grit and discoloration on the foot rim. Both with surface scratches but in otherwise good condition.
