A BRONZE 'PRUNUS' BOTTLE VASE QING DYNASTY, KANGXI PERIOD

Estimate
8,000 - 12,000 USD
bidding is closed

Description

the globular body tapering to a tall cylindrical neck with a flared mouth, finely cast in low-relief with prunus borne on meandering branches, supported on a splayed foot decorated with foliate scrolls, the base cast with a three-character seal-script inscription

Condition

The vase is in overall good condition. The body is covered with a slightly darker patina than the neck which is more golden in tone due to handling the piece. There are very light overall traces of wear to the surface consistent with age. The base is a circular plate which is set into the base and sealed with red wax, traces of which are visible. There is an old number written in black ink onto the base 146/67 and three seal script characters 'yong bao yong" are engraved to the centre.
