each dish solidly cast, of shallow rounded form, the sides molded with a ring of narrow chrysanthemum petals radiating from the plain, slightly recessed central medallion to the scalloped rim, and continuing on the underside over the low tapered footring, each cast to the base with an apocryphal six-character Xuande mark (2)
Condition
Both dishes are solidly cast and very heavy. One dish has an overall beautiful dark patina which is slightly matte on the interior and more shiny on the exterior. The second dish may at some stage in the past have been covered with paint which has been removed in the past leaving traces of pigment on the interior and exterior surface.
