Description
of baluster shape, beautifully decorated around the exterior with a lively scene of birds and butterflies among various flora, including orchids, prunus and peony, above rockwork and a band of green and blue waves, a dark-blue ruyi-head border below the trumpet mouth, all reserved on a wan cloison diaper turquoise ground, the splayed tall foot enameled with stylized lotus heads borne on foliate scrolls, with a gilt-bronze interior, rim, and foot
Condition
The vase is in overall good condition. It shows a shallow bruised area above the rim of the foot approximately 2 inches long. There are minor losses to the blue enamel fo the lappets underneath the rim of the neck some of which have been filled in. enamel underneath the rim of the neck. And there are small losses to the enaml to the waves above the foot some of which have been filled in. The gilding on the inside neck is a rich golden colour.
