Description

finely cast seated in dhyanasana, the right hand in vitarka mudra 'teaching gesture', the left hand in dhyana mudra, the bare chest adorned with cascading bejeweled necklaces, the body wrapped in the folds of a long layered robe with foliate borders draped over the shoulders, the garment gathering around his legs in even folds, the face crisply cast with downcast eyes in serene contemplation, a diadem resting around the crown of his head, his hair falling in knotted tressed down the shoulders, with wood stand (2)

Condition

The figure is in overall good condition with the exception of the tip of the index finger on its right hand which is broken off and missing. There is some overall light rubbing and wear to the gilding, particularly to the face and some areas of the back. The finely cast hems of the garment gathered between the figure's feet are polished.
