Description
the upper surface and sides deeply carved with a band of ruyi surrounding a central floral medallion, the interior and base lacquered black, Japanese wood box
Condition
The box and cover is in good overall original condition with the exception of a 1cm wide chip to the edge of the base of the box and an associated circa 2cm. long crack, a 2cm., wide crescent-shaped flake to the outer edge of the rim of the box, minor rubbing a flaking to the rim and characteristic crazing to the black lacquer interior of the base and cover.
