Description

the shallow five-lobed body rising from a short foot to a lipped rim, deeply carved through the red and black lacquer layers to the interior and exterior with spectacle-shaped guri scrolls, the base lacquered black

Condition

The dish is in good overall condition with the exception of three areas of restoration to the rim (5, 4 and 3cm., wide), minor age cracks to the rim and exterior, some shallow flakes to one of the guri scrolls on the exterior and light rubbing and nibbles to the base of the footring.
