Description
the animal with a 'pearl' clenched between his teeth, the eyes raised in high relief, with picked out fur and scales, the head terminating in a rounded axe blade above a tubular support
Provenance
Private collection Hong Kong, 1970s.
Condition
The axe is in good overall condition with the exception of a 2cm., crack running up from the base of the shaft, a 5mm., diam., casting hole to the shaft, small casting flaws in the blade head, overall light malachite encrustation slightly heavier around the jaws of the dragon and light rubbing to the gilding predominantly to the blade area.
