Description

the finely carved figure dressed in a loose-fitting robe, hemmed with gilt floral scrolls, his right arm leaning on his bent right knee holding his long eye brow, on a pierced rock work base

Spink & Son Ltd., 1981.

Condition

The figure is in very good condition with the exception of two areas of restoration to the base of the back of the figure (1.6cm, 1.2cm); restoration to the front left corner of the base (approx. 6cm), which appears to have been a clean break; a hairline crack to the other front corner (approx 6cm); minor rubbing to the painted facial details and gilded decoration; and very light scratches.
