Description

the body of globular form rising from a concave base to a short flaring neck and everted rim, finely engraved around the exterior with four large medallions enclosing a phoenix with wings outstretched reserved on a ring-matted ground, all between a lotus lappet band at the base and a lotus scroll at the shoulder, the domed cover repouse decorated with birds and beasts amidst scrolling foliage

Condition

The jar and cover are in good overall condition with the exception of shallow and soft denting to the sides and base; the cover has a slight dent to one side of the rim.
