finely cast, depicting a maiden riding a donkey being led by a groom
Condition
The group is in very good condition with the exception of restoration to the top left tuning key on her instrument and light rubbing to the patina.

The maiden riding the donkey is Wang Zhaojun of the Western Han period, who became the consort of Huhanye, from the Central Asian nomadic tribe Xiongnu. Wang is famed as one of the 'Four Beauties of Ancient China'.
