Description
moulded in the form of a Buddhist Wheel of Law, the reticulated and gilt wheel embellished with coral, sapphire and turquoise-coloured enamels, all supported on an elaborate and brightly enamelled pedestal base in the form of a circular box and cover rising from a vase and flower-shaped stem on a domed stepped foot, the base with Qianlong seal mark and of the period.
Condition
The altar emblem and stand are in good overall condition with the exception of a restored break across the lower half of the wheel, minor enamel nibbles around the apeture at the top of the stand, minor rubbing to the gilt decoration and light glaze scratches. The emblem and stand are of the same period but were unlikely to have been originaly made to be used together.
