Description

of European shape painted in deep blue with a scholar accompanied by attendants in a garden scene, the neck with stylised tulip blooms flanked by a loop handle, Japanese wood box

Condition

With the exception of minor nibbling to the rim; a short firing crack to the bottom of the handle where it meets the body of the ewer; a hairline crack extending down from below the rim to the interior; minor overall firing and glazing imperfections; and very light scratches to the glaze, the ewer is in very good condition.
