Description
of slender baluster form, brightly enamelled around the exterior with panels of birds amongst prunus, qilin, scholars objects, crane amongst pine, peony amongst rockwork and pavilions in river landscapes, all reserved on a pale green floral and butterfly pitted ground, the domed and facetted cover similarly decorated and surmounted with a knop
Condition
The vase is in fair overall condition with the exception of a slight tilt to one side, a circa 40cm.,long area of restoration/over-painting to a U-shaped crack/break running up the body from the foot and back down to the foot, fritting to the rim, foot and edges of the mould lines, minor glaze firing imperfections including iron spots and burst bubbles, light glaze and enamel scratches and minor enamel flakes and rubbing to the gilded decoration. The cover is in good overall condition with the exception similar firing imperfections, and some shallow flakes and fritting to the edges.
