Description

of cylindrical form, finely enamelled around the exterior with two square panels variously enclosing a scholar seated in a garden and a landscape, divided by rectangular panels enclosing three line calligraphic inscriptions, all between lotus leaf and diaper bands at the foot and rim

Condition

The overall condition of the brushpot is very good, with the exception of a 4mm firing impurity near the rim of the exterior; some pin head-sized firing imperfections to the interior; and light overall surface scratching to the enamels and glaze.
