Description
the female Deity seated upon a tall rockwork base with her left leg crossed over her right, her body turned slightly forward, holding an amphora in one hand, the other supported on a ledge next to a bound handscroll, dressed in long billowing scarves and voluminous robes tied around the waist with a tasselled rope-belt trailing elegantly down to her feet, where a small acolyte gazes up at the Deity in adoration, mounted onto an ormolu base
Condition
The Guanyin was broken across the waist and restored. There is a firing crack at the bow tied at her left leg, horizontal firing cracks on the rock under her hands and to the rock she is seated on. A small reglued chip to her shawl near her waist. The glaze is very creamy and the features are well carved.
