Description

carved as two lotus pods joined together, with a budding flower to the reverse, all 'tied' together, jade cover, wood cover and wood stand

Condition

This jar is in very good condition, with the exception of the wood cover which may have been created as a replacement to an original jade cover; a 5mm flake to a leaf of the base and to the outer rim of the large pod; two tiny chips to the end of the leaves; a tiny chip to the end of one petal; and nibbles to the rims and to the extremities of the lotus pods. Please note that the stone is of a slightly more celadon tone than the catalogue illustration would suggest.
