well-carved in the form of a recumbent beast with its spiny back arched and its head turned sharply to its left looking timidly towards its bushy bifurcated tail, its well-defined paws tucked in front and along the side of its body, the translucent stone with a well-polished patina and evenly white save for a small russet patch of skin on its back
