Description
each standing on a double-lotus pedestal, the male figure wearing a dhoti tied around his waist revealing a bare chest covered by an inlaid necklace, his arms decorated with bangles and wristband, hands clasped together in prayer, his hair tied in a double knot; the female in similar pose wearing a long-sleeved robe, her hands hidden beneath a piece of cloth and hair tied in a high chignon, wearing headband and earrings, each signed on the base di zi Zhou Xiang zao ('made by the disciple Zhou Xiang') (2)
Condition
Both sculptures are in quite good condition with the some light wear to the gilding on the top of the pedestals. The male figure has a few missing gemstones and the base plate has been replaced. The female figure is missing her offering bowl and a few gemstones. The base plate has also been replaced.
