of cylindrical form, the flat cover deeply carved with a scholar accompanied by his two attendants walking through a landscape, one carrying a basket of flowers and the other a lingzhi branch, the sides carved with a fine diaper ground repeated around the sides of the box, the interior lacquered in black

Condition

The carving and exterior of the box and cover are in very good condition. The sides of the interior of both the box and cover may be re-lacquered and with some possible repainting to the inner lip of the box.
