Description

the deep U-shaped bowl rising to a flared mouth, supported on a tall splayed hollow foot, the exterior carved with the bajixiang ('Eight Buddhist Emblems') on two registers of the bowl alternating with a lotus flower borne on a continuous scroll, between a band of ruyi heads around the mouth and upright lappets encircling the base, the foot skirted by a band of ruyi heads suspending a beaded chain, below two registers of flowers and leaves, all reserved on a diaper ground, the interior and inner foot lacquered in black
